Short description
The ‘Emotional Empowerment for Prisoners’ programme focuses on stress management, self-awareness, communication and personal resilience. It is designed for the prison environment and adapted to the particular needs of participants.
Duration
12 hours, across 4 sessions of 3 hours each.
Certificate
A certificate of attendance is issued by European Pathfinders.
Educational purpose
The aim of the programme is to provide participants with practical tools to recognise their emotions, manage tension, communicate more effectively and strengthen their personal resilience. The programme treats learning as a process of self-awareness, empowerment and preparation for more meaningful social reintegration.
Who it is for
The programme is aimed at adult prisoners and can be delivered in partnership with correctional facilities, second-chance schools, social services and organisations working in education, support and prisoner reintegration.
Content
The programme helps participants recognise basic sources of stress and become familiar with simple calming and self-regulation techniques. It includes self-observation activities, communication exercises, discussion of personal boundaries, approaches to conflict management and the creation of a simple personal empowerment plan.
Educational methodology
The methodology is based on experiential learning, discussion in a safe setting, practical exercises and reflective activities. Activities are adapted to the implementation environment and respect the particular conditions of participation. The language is direct, clear and non-stigmatising.
