Short description

The ‘Active Ageing’ programme is aimed at older adults and focuses on practices that can improve quality of life, independence and social participation in later years. It combines topics on movement, nutrition, mental wellbeing, social connection and basic use of technology in everyday life.

Certificate

A certificate of attendance is issued by European Pathfinders.

Educational purpose

The aim of the programme is to help participants remain active, informed and socially connected. The programme emphasises small, realistic changes that can be applied in everyday life without requiring any previous specialist knowledge.

Who it is for

The programme is aimed at older adults, members of senior citizens’ centres, elderly associations, local communities, carers, and organisations delivering activities for active ageing, prevention of isolation and the participation of older people in the community.

Content

The programme examines key issues affecting quality of life in later years. Participants discuss the value of light physical activity, a balanced diet, social connection and mental wellbeing. They also become familiar with simple digital functions that can help them with everyday communication, access to services and better organisation of their daily lives.

Educational methodology

The programme is based on experiential learning, discussion, sharing of experiences and simple practical exercises. The language is clear and accessible, and the material is adapted to participants’ needs. Training is not limited to transmitting information, but helps participants connect what they learn to real needs in their everyday lives.
